Polish third seed Agnieszka Radwanska leapt into the third round of the Generali Ladies Open in Austria today, after a comfortable win over Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi.
The Polish teen ousted Kanepi 6-2, 6-4, and will now play Nadia Petrova, a former champion, or Katarina Srebotnik in the quarter-finals.
Eighth-seeded Frenchwoman Alize Cornet rallied from a first set deficit to defeat Russian glamour, Maria Kirilenko 1-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Cornet snapped a streak of opening round defeats in her past three tournaments - at Stuttgart, Moscow and Zurich - but has now won back-to-back matches in Linz and progresses to her first quarter-finals since August.
