Murray Wants Out

Andy Murray has questioned his commitment to Britain’s Davis Cup campaign following their relegation to the Europe/Africa zone.

Murray was successful in both matches against Austria, but felt his team-mates had not tried their hardest.

“If I make a sacrifice I think every single person in the team should be willing to make those sacrifices and say they will give it all they've got,” said Murray.

Ironically, Murray didn’t play in the doubles, citing a minor knee injury. British captain John Lloyd tried to defend the selection policy, saying Murray needed rest.

Britain lost the doubles 6-4, 6-3, 6-1.

Lloyd later admitted he had made an error.

“If Andy had played the doubles it would have been closer and I'd like another go at it,” he said.
