Australia’s Sam Stosur reached the quarter-finals of the Korea Open overnight, defeating Sabine Lisicki 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3.

It was good news for the World No. 73, who is trying to break back into the top 50.

Second-seed Shahar Peer scraped into the quarter-finals with a 6-4, 7-5 victory against Japan’s Ayumi Morita

At the Thailand Open, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was rusty against World No. 166 Lukas Dlouhy, struggling to a 7-6(9), 3-6, 7-6(1) victory.

The second-seed was pleased with his victory, considering his recent lack of matches.

“It was a very difficult match, I didn’t play my best tennis,” he said.

Fellow Frenchman Gail Monfils also reached the quarter-finals with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win against Robert Kendrick.
