Number-one seed Novak Djokovic eased into the quarter-finals of the Thailand Open overnight, defeating German Simon Stadler 6-1, 6-3
It took the World No. 3 only 22 minutes to wrap up the first set.
The Serb was pleased with his dominating performance.
“I’m surprised how well I played in the first set,” Djokovic said.
Djokovic will meet Sweden’s Robin Soderling, who beat Teimuraz Gabashvili 6-3, 6-1.
Fifth-seed Jarkko Nieminen was involved in the upset of the day, with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 loss to France’s Nicolas Mahut.
